Northington Stud & Stables are a Riding School and livery yard looking to take on a Equine Groom Apprentice to take on day to day duties. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.
Responsibilities
General yard duties such as:
- Mucking out
- Filling haynets
- Making feeds
- Turning outbringing in Cleaning tack
- Tacking up
- Clipping
- Plaiting
- Trimming
- Pulling
- Bathing
- Rug changing
- Paddock maintenance
- Riding available depending on ability
- First aid Exercising horses from the ground
- Holding for vet farrier dentist
Future Prospects
- Possibility of Level 3
Skills Required
- Some equine experience
Qualities Required
- Hard working
- Willing to learn
Qualifications Required
- C/4+ in GCSEs or equivalent
Training Provided
- Equine Groom Level 2 Apprrenticeship Standard
- Full training supported by Haddon Training
