Job Description

Flying Cat Livery Yard in Croydon near Royston offers DIY, full or part livery and is incredibly flexible, with the best facilities and hacking in the area. They are offering a wonderful opportunity for an Equine Groom in a warm friendly team, looking after 30 horses.


Flying Cat Livery has great facilities including 2 outdoor floodlit arenas and 1 indoor, a horse walker, two tack rooms, a wash bay and a tearoom.

Fantastic hacking including some private paths around the farm.

Some general duties will include:

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Schooling
  • Riding
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.) for experienced candidate
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Future Prospects

Possibility of Level 3 Senior Groom on completion of Level 2.

Skills Required

  • Some equine experience would be beneficial

  • Hard working
  • Keen to learn

Qualifications Required

Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English, or C/4 in GCSEs or equivalent.
