What will the apprentice be doing?Balfour Nursery provides a caring, safe and stimulating environment for children aged 0 to 5 years within which they can flourish.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work and learn alongside our dedicated and experienced team who work hard to realise each child’s potential.
Your daily duties will include but not be limited to;
Provide a high standard of care for all children placed in the nursery
Adhere to the nursery’s policies and procedures and comply with all legislation and Ofsted requirements
Assist in the planning and preparation of activities, to meet children’s individual needs
To maintain children’s records
To maintain the nursery environment by ensuring all equipment and rooms are kept clean and safe
Supervision of mealtimes
To liaise with parents ensuring a two-way flow of information
Working with parents of special needs children to achieve full integration within the nursery

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?Paragon Skills is a leading national Apprenticeship training provider, supporting over 4,000 learners and 1,500 organisations. Paragon Skills has some of the highest success and achievement rates in the industry. It has an Ofsted Grade 2 Good rating and an overall achievement rate of 71.4%, exceeding the national average of 65.6%. Using a blended approach, learners are always at the forefront of our priorities. All learners are assigned a Personal Tutor who will be their main point of contact. This involves regular catch-ups, check-in emails and calls. Your employer will agree to give you 20% of your working hours solely towards your study. This will give you every chance to achieve the highest grade possible! On completion of this 12 month apprenticeship you will have gained; Level 2 Early Years Practitioner.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Apprentices are supported to become Room Leaders. Previous apprentices have now become Deputy Manager and another has gone on to study a degree to become a Primary School Teacher.
