We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team.
The role will involve learning all that is involved in the day to day running of the kitchen.
- Stock checks
- Garnishing and desserts.
You will work under our highly qualified, talented head chef.
Both business are led by the highly successful Jens Folkel. He has been an executive
head chef in the capital but moved to Herne Bay for a slower pace of life after
having his children. He has a wealth of experience and his food is top notch!
Finbars is an exciting restaurant that has a 5 star reputation and is in the top 10 percent in the world on Trip advisor. Both the café and restaurant are family run businesses so the staff team are small and like family. They are very welcoming and helpful towards new members. The food we serve in both establishments is locally sourced, fresh food. The café being more grill cheffing and the restaurant fine foods. The successful applicant would get a
taste of what its like to work in both kitchens to see what they prefer for development for their future career.
We look after our staff so they want to stay with us. We will work with the individual to expand on their skill set and work on any weaker areas. We would ideally want our apprentice to stay working with us and work their way up. We have 2 chefs in our kitchen that started off as apprentices with us.
We will offer training so the correct candidate will be able to run the service independently.
The successful candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends. A meal and refreshments will be offered whilst on duty. Age appropriate wage plus share of tips.
We would hope that after successful completion of the apprenticeship the candidate would become a full time member of staff.
