Job Description

At Little Acorns we are happy to be offering an ambitious individual an opportunity to learn on the job while having fun. Someone who is interested in childcare within the Folkestone-Cheriton area.

Responsibilities

As the Early Years Practitioner Apprentice your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Looking after small groups of children of about 3
  • Helping them with activities
  • Working with other staff and all the children, going for walks
  • Overall making sure children are always safe and well looked after

Future Prospects

  • While with us we are happy for you to further your development with going onto a level 3 and so on, we are happy to help you look into funding for any courses

  • DBS check required

Skills Required

  • Be creative: We do a lot of crafts etc. and displays so input with these would be helpful

Qualities Required

  • Be caring: We care for children from 7 months-4 years old, so you need to be nurturing
  • Be punctual: We cannot have anyone being late due to ratio of adult: child
  • Be confident: knowing what you are doing and being confident to do it

Qualifications Required

  • First aid in paediatric (this will be arranged by the employer for the successful candidate to undertake prior to starting)
  • GCSE's grade 4/C or above or equivalent in English and maths are preferred but not essential
