Responsibilities
- Using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Office, to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases
- Supporting legal professionals with the administration of Immigration matters and other aspects of law
- Taking enquiries over the phone and other Reception duties
- Devising and maintaining office systems
- Using content management systems to maintain internal databases
- Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts
- Maintaining stationery and equipment
- Undertaking administrative tasks such as ordering equipment / stationery supplies, and reporting and rectifying faults and enquiries
- Sorting and distributing incoming post, and organising/sending outgoing post
- Photocopying and printing various documents on behalf of colleagues
- Filing legal, administrative and financial documents in date order
- Scanning documents to various computerised systems
- Ensure all files are regularly maintained and are in accordance with our policies on file maintenance
- Ensuring the office environment is free from hazards and identifying potential issues
DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES
- Effectively manage caseload and deadlines
- Conduct business development and marketing activities
- Attend meetings
- Take telephone calls and/or messages as well as calling third parties
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fully conversant with Word, Outlook and Excel and used to working with computerised case management systems and any other IT systems/software
- Assist colleagues with their fee earning work
- Typing from dictations using an online portal
- General drafting of documents
- Completing forms
- Attending Court, conferences and other business related activities
Future Prospects
- Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, there would be the opportunity to discuss the possibility of progressing onto the Paralegal Level 3 programme

Qualifications Required
