Job Description

Manufacturing Operatives will be expected to carry out their work safely and meet the exacting quality standards demanded in a fast paced and efficient processing environment and may progress into a multi-skilled operator. You can be required to carry out manufacturing activities on multiple products with different specifications

Responsibilities

The role would be across different areas, as we need the flexibility to move roles dependant on where the work load is.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

Warehousing/Stores:

  • No FLT or heavy lifting involved, it basically putting bulk stock away on the shelf and then when a job is needed its taking the specific quantities from the shelves and having them laid out on a tray ready for the first part of assembly

1st part of assembly:

  • Using the production assembly sheets you then use our pneumatic etching machine to engrave the side of the locks with the project and door number
  • Using the production key sheets you use our laser etching machine to engrave all keys with the project and door number

2nd Part Of Assembly:

  • Manual key cutting (These all have guards on to protect the employee), using the production key sheets enter into the key machine the specific depth of the key for each key required

3rd Part Of Assembly:

  • On the job training will be provided to train and show hoe to assembly each range of locks

4th Part Of Assembly:

  • Quality control your own work before passing it on for a final inspection by our quality inspection person

  • GCSE maths and English D/3 or above (or equivalent)

Training Provided

Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:

Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing, assessed onsite and at TDR.  Additional qualifications, including IOSH (Health & Safety) will also be incorporated into the qualification

Before taking end-point assessment apprentices must have:

  • Achieved level 1 English and maths (equivalent to GCSE grades 3 to 1 or D to G)
  • Taken level 2 English and maths (equivalent to GCSE grades 9 to 4 or A* to C)
