Job Description

Neogene Ltd is a specialist supplier of high-performance coatings in the ceramic, glass, and plastic coating markets. As a laboratory technician apprentice for Neogene Ltd your goal will be to carry out full batch testing and process control, combined with the formulation and supply of customer samples.

Responsibilities

Neogene Ltd has been a specialist supplier of high-performance coatings since 1934. They have a long-established presence in the industrial coating industry, with primary focus in the ceramic, glass, and plastic coating markets.

They are looking for meticulous people like you to assist with the day-to-day batch testing at their onsite laboratory based in Watford, Hertfordshire. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills through a variety of task-based challenges, including the evaluation of raw material performance and product modification, as you progress through your training.

As a laboratory technician apprentice for Neogene Ltd your goal will be to carry out full batch testing and process control, combined with the formulation and supply of customer samples.

  • Raw Material Evaluation
  • Spray Application of Samples
  • Maintaining Lab Supplies
  • Maintaining a Clean Working Area
  • Liaising with Co-workers
  • Stock Control
  • Complying with health & safety procedures

Qualities Required

  • The ability to show an interest in science, or laboratory testing.

  • To be able to react quickly and accurately to verbal and written instructions
  • Highly motivated and hard working
  • Prepared to work outside normal hours if required

Qualifications Required

  • Ideally English, maths and science GCSE 4/C grade or above or equivalent (however lower grades will be considered, so don’t be put off)

Training Provided

  • Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship Standard
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (If required)
