Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
- Assist with sample process within the Site Laboratory
- Assist with waste coming into site (physical and administrative), utilising appropriate system to manage non- compliance
- Liaise with other departments to ensure correct routing of wastes
- Undertake administrative activities including Chemist Check sheets, process sheets, stock sheets, production records, etc
- Collaborate with supervisors to ensure site targets/KPI's are achieved
- Assist with running of all operational and other sampling requirements
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Over 21 months, you’ll devote 20% of your 40 hours of working time towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship. You’ll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experienced mentor at Augean who together, will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you’ll need to succeed in your career.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
There’s no limit to what you can achieve if you work for Augean, with potential for the successful applicant to be offered a full-time position working with the business at the end of the apprenticeship.
Through ‘on-the-job’ training you’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills including working towards a forklift license and developing leadership skills. There will be opportunities to contribute to projects looking for ways to improve processes at the plant. Hard work and determination will be recognised!
