Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
In this role, you’ll have various duties and responsibilities to keep you on your toes, as no two days are the same. Some of your accountabilities and main duties will include but not limited to:
- To prepare samples for laboratory testing
- To perform analysis of microbiology samples
- To prepare microbiological media, for the testing of laboratory samples, and to provide to the Logistics Department, for client sampling
- To ensure the general maintenance of the Laboratory and common areas of the building
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English (if required)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Success in this role could lead to senior vacancies such as Team Leader or Management roles. If you fancy a role which is more customer focused instead, but at the same time will allow you to implement the knowledge you’ve gained during your apprenticeship, then our Customer Service team could be a great match for you also. Or, if you like to explore different divisions of the business, you can cross over to other departments.
