Benchmarx Kitchens and Joinery have an opportunity for you to join our family as a Kitchen Design Apprentice. Previous industry knowledge is not essential for this role, all we look for is an individual who is customer focused and the passion to take ownership of your own success. In return, we will provide the training and support you need to become an expert Kitchen Designer, and help our trade customers turn individual living spaces into unique, kitchen realities.
As a Kitchen Design Apprentice, you’ll be at the heart of the business playing a vital role in delivering sales & profit towards the success of the branch.
Duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- You will work closely with customers listening carefully to what they want and understand their needs
- You’ll visit customers’ homes or building sites, draw up inspirational designs on CAD and present them to the customers
- Whilst offering competitive quotes, you will use your negotiation skills to maximise sales for further growth on margin
Being a target driven role, you will manage and seek out your own sales leads.
Hours of work: Our working hours also offer a great work life balance - your working week will be Monday to Friday 7.30am - 5.00pm and every other Saturday morning 8.00am-12.00pm.
Salary: Circa £20,000 dependant on experience + 22 days holiday plus bank holidays + discounts and access to health and well being advice and support.
Location: This position will be based within your host branch but you will be required to spend time within other branches within your region. This will require the successful candidate to have a full UK driving licence, and be flexible to travel to different locations
How will we support you?
The 12 month apprenticeship programme teaches you to be a great kitchen designer within our business, pulling together CAD training, inspiration design and product knowledge training to provide our valued customers with the best possible service. Upon completion, you will be rewarded with a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Furniture Design.
Our Apprenticeships are focused on your development and factor study time into your working week, so you can achieve your qualification without affecting your work-life balance. We provide you with a fantastic support network through; 1:1 coaching, mentoring and technical and skills training to enable you to progress your career with us. Along the way, our experienced team will provide you with plenty of support to ensure you get the best out of your Apprenticeship. And it doesn’t have to end here, as we have a suite of Apprenticeship programmes that can support you to continue to develop your career with us, all the way up to the Boardroom.

Fitted Furniture Design Technician Standard.
Right from the start of your career with us, you’ll be supported in your development. You’ll join our Diploma in Kitchen Design, a 12 month Apprenticeship that will give you tools to be successful in your role. Over your apprenticeship, you’ll explore the product ranges we have on offer for our customer base, you'll develop your own inspirational design capability and you will get to grips with Computer Aided Design, mastering techniques to bring your ideas to life for your customers.
Through 1:1 coaching and mentoring, you’ve got a fantastic support network that will support you, not only through the apprenticeship programme, but your day to day development.
Over the year, you will build the foundations for your future career by attending online knowledge and skills workshops that are led by our highly skilled training team, as well as our business experts. On top of all of this, you will also be gaining a nationally recognised qualification. With apprenticeships covering 90% of our roles, there’s also multiple development opportunities to fast track your career within our Group.
