As part of their dedicated Services Desk, the 1st Line Support Engineer Trainee will work closely with the team supporting and helping clients succeed through technology. As first-line support, you will be the first point of contact, providing exceptional telephone and remote support and if necessary, an onsite response. Due to the fast pace of a 1st line team, we require 1st line engineers to work from the office 5 days a week

Duties and responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for support calls
  • Provide Remote/Onsite 1st Line support to clients
  • Installation work
  • Achieve both personal targets such as customer satisfaction
  • Working in order of SLA and priority of tickets
  • System documentation

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The Information Communications Technician makes their contribution through the application of infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.

An Information Communications Technician (ICT) provides support to internal and/or external customers, by using tools or systems to problem solve and trouble-shoot routine and non-routine problems. This occupation supports clients/customers with their systems. They achieve this through monitoring and maintaining the systems and/or platforms to maximise productivity and user experience.

There are 3 pathways within this Apprenticeship which include:
A Support Technician
A Network Technician
A Digital Communications Technician

As a result, you will achieve:

  • Level 3 Information Communications Technician
  • CompTIA A+ certifications
  • Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • Training is completed inhouse and remotely from the Apprentices' workplace.
