Our client; WP Connect are a leading managed services provider in the IT and telecoms industry, working with a wide range of private sector businesses across the southeast of England. Key services include networks, internet, Cyber security, and telephony. Due to continued expansion they are looking for an IT Support Apprentice.

Where they are looking for a confident, motivated people person to join their team as an IT Support Technician whilst working towards the Level 3 industry accredited qualification, the Information Communications Technician.

Key Duties & Areas' of Responsibility:

  • Work on and resolve escalated Helpdesk Tickets
  • Delight our Clients with a Friendly, Quick and Helpful Experience
  • Provide the Client with advanced remote troubleshooting
  • Remote Hardware Maintenance and Support
  • Use our Ticketing System to work on and resolve Helpdesk Tickets & Service Requests
  • Managing and recording all work though our Ticketing System
  • Make sure that Client Documentation in well maintained
  • Split tickets that have several issues into their own individual ticket
  • Make sure that tickets arent stale throughout the process
  • Review RMM dashboard and apply remediation actions as indicated by our Processes
  • Review regularly scheduled/automated actions as indicated by our Processes
  • From time to time the projects team will need additional resource to help deliver projects either on site or remotely. When opportunities arise you will be required to help with project delivery

Future Prospects

  • A full time position will be considered to the apprentice after full completion of the apprenticeship if they demonstrate the right skills and attributes

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE Grade C/4 and Above in English and maths is desierable

Training Provided

The Information Communications Technician makes their contribution through the application of infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components. An Information Communications Technician (ICT) provides support to internal and/or external customers, by using tools or systems to problem solve and trouble-shoot routine and non-routine problems.

This occupation supports clients/customers with their systems. They achieve this through monitoring and maintaining the systems and/or platforms to maximise productivity and user experience.

There are 3 pathways within this Apprenticeship which include:

  • A Support Technician
  • A Network Technician
  • A Digital Communications Technician

As a result, you will achieve: Level 3 Information Communications Technician Functional Skills in Maths and English (if required)
