Job Description

Airband hunting for their next IT Apprentice; they're looking for a Support Desk Apprentice to join their Support team. It's a great opportunity for someone with a passion for technology looking to start their career. They will be given a chance to learn all about wireless and fibre technologies as they grow their troubleshooting skills.


As an Support Desk Apprentice Apprentice your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Answering calls and providing technical support over the phone you will be troubleshooting connection faults and monitoring the network
  • working with customers who are seeking technical assistance and perform remote troubleshooting
  • Keeping records of customer queries and make sure these are recorded following company processes
  • Support with testing and fixing faulty equipment
  • To support with monitoring networks and troubleshooting faults
  • Working with the team to resolve technical faults with the network to maximize network performances

  • The candidate will be considered for career progression opportunities through the Support Desk team structure and into different departments within the business, both internal and external training courses and the chance to work in a great working environment

Skills Required

  • Customer focused skills
  • IT BTEC level 3 in IT is desirable.
  • Understanding of Microsoft software and operating systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to take complex technical solutions and simplify for end users

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum of 4 X GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C) including English and maths 

Training Provided

Information Communication Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Qualification together with on site training by the employer.
  • For those starting at Advanced (Level 3), the expected duration would be eighteen months plus 4 months End point assessment stage)
  • There is an opportunity to progress on to the Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4) and ultimately on to a Degree Apprenticeship.
