We are looking for a Desktop Support Analyst to join an international team of professionals on a 15-month apprenticeship programme. While gaining industry standard qualifications, you will complete a variety of daily tasks.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities: 

  • You will be working on a global environment in everyday communication with international offices 
  • There will be a healthy blend of support and project based work 
  • You will be joining an experienced follow-the-sun support team, and communicating internally, frequently 
  • Will work effectively with management and staff, vendors and consultants 
  • Responding to critical requests 
  • Expected to move computer equipment around the office 

More specific tasks will be discussed and confirmed upon interview.

QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education. 

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.

Skills Required

Essential skills & experience: 

  • Excellent customer skills / White glove service
  • Ability to troubleshoot/maintain PC hardware
  • Escalate hardware problems to manufacturer/vendors
  • Managing video conferencing rooms
  • Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 and 10
  • Troubleshoot Office 2013/2016
  • Printer support (Hardware & server)
  • IOS/Android device support, MDM administration

Desired skills & experience:

  • Bloomberg experience
  • Reuters experience
  • Cisco switch administration
  • ITIL experience
  • Office 365 experience
  • Understand NTFS & Share permissions
  • DNS, DHCP
  • Windows Server 2012 support
  • Understanding of Active Directory and administration
  • Experience in building and deploying PCs. WDS. MDT
  • Exposure to front office Financial Services

Qualities Required

  • The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Microsoft desktop/server environments, HP desktop & server hardware, IOS/Android OS phones and printers
  • Enthusiasm for working in IT and Technology 
  • Team player with excellent consultative and communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently to meet goals and objectives with minimal supervision 
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills 
  • Ability to work well under pressure, responding to critical requests calmly and efficiently 
  • Able to carry a problem from end to end and the ability to make decisions when faced with a speed hump 
  • Weekend/out of hours working when necessary 
  • Organised and able to follow an agenda

Qualifications Required

  • Five GCSE or equivalent at grades A-C/7-4 including maths and English 
  • A-Level or equivalent in ICT/Business/Computing 

Training Provided

  • Level 3 - Infrastructure technician standard
  • Functional Skills if required

Approximately 11% of training takes place in the QA learning centre classroom. 9% is done in the workplace, through online training, face-to-face meetings with your QA Technical Skills Coach, or developing your portfolio. The remaining time will be spent on your workplace activity.
