We are currently seeking an IT Software Engineer Apprentice to join our team and build high quality web and data analytics solutions designed to enhance the digital experience across the University. Working in the IT Service Development team, you will play a central role in supporting the delivery of web and data projects using a range of skills.
GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade Grade 4 or above) Essential
A Level or equivalent IT based subject (Grade Grade C or above/PASS) Essential
Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
Throughout the apprenticeship, the role holder will increasingly understand and become more knowledgeable in:
- Implementing all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- The quality issues that can arise with data and how to avoid and/or resolve these.
- The processes involved in carrying out data analysis projects.
- How to use and apply industry standard tools and methods for data analysis.
- The range of data protection and legal considerations when developing software and/or processing various data types.
- The fundamentals of data structures, database system design, implementation and maintenance.
- The organisation's data architecture.
- How to interpret and implement a design, compliant with functional, non-functional and security requirements.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The apprentice will receive a BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions (Software Engineer) degree.
- The apprentice will be located at our Chichester Campus as part of our Business School
- The apprentice will be required to attend University one day a week
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
To remain an integral part of the team within University of Chichester
