Job Description

Airband are hunting for their next IT Apprentice who will be supporting the installation, monitoring and service of their internal IT infrastructure and software. Responsibilities

As an IT Infrastructure Business Systems Apprentice your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Setting up laptops, tablets, phones and other IT devices (routers, printers etc.)
  • Checking computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality and compliance
  • Installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications and functional requirements
  • Providing orientation and guidance to users on how to operate software and computer equipment
  • Organising and scheduling upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
  • Performing troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Maintaining records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  • Identifying computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
  • Building and Maintaining efficient computer systems and networks
  • Optimise the role of technology on business sustainability

  • Opportunity to progress on to a Degree Apprenticeship or permanent role for the right individual

Reality Check

  • Can you get to the location of the employer? Airband currently have 13 apprentices working within the company and 100% of their apprentices have been offered a full time role and progression opportunities on completion of their apprenticeship to date. Role is currently advertised at Kirkham House WR3 7NS, but Apprentice will actually be working out of 105 Pointon Way, Stonebridge Cross, Droitwich, WR9 0LW

Skills Required

  • Customer focused skills
  • IT BTEC level 3 in IT is desirable
  • Understanding of Microsoft software and operating systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to take complex technical solutions and simplify for end users

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum of 4 x GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C) including English and maths 

Training Provided

Information Communication Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Qualification together with on site training by the employer.
  • For those starting at Advanced (Level 3), the expected duration would be eighteen months plus 4 months End point assessment stage)
  • There is an opportunity to progress on to the Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4) and ultimately on to a Degree Apprenticeship.
