Job Description

An exciting opportunity for someone to develop skills and a career in IT in an Education environment. Erasmus Darwin Academy are looking for an IT infrastructure Technician Apprentice to join their team.

Responsibilities

This role will involve:

  • Support all staff and students in the use of information technology
  • Spend time in the community of schools to help maintain the ict equipment
  • Respond to ‘call outs’ from staff or from the community of schools
  • Carry out basic electrical testing of computer and audio-visual equipment in accordance with health and safety requirements
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repair of computer and audio-visual equipment, including replacement of consumables and cleaning
  • Help with the installation of data projectors, computers, peripherals and software
  • Assist with the training of staff in the use of ict
  • Respond positively to changes in ict development for the benefit of the school
  • Help maintain internet facilities and other learning technology for curriculum use
  • Produce and present support materials for staff and students
  • Assist the ict technician
  • Assist the ict technician and network support officer in providing support to other

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE Maths and English A-C / 9-4 (or the equivalent)

Training Provided

Full apprenticeship training provided, working towards an Advanced Level Apprenticeship gaining a Level 3 qualification, Infrastructure Technician.
