Job Description

We have an opening for an IT Helpdesk Apprentice to join our busy help desk in East London to assist with day to day support calls. Initially these support calls will be predominantly of a 1st Line nature developing on to 2nd Line. This is a challenging role that offers excellent career progress for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • First point of contact for support calls through the helpdesk
  • Logging and assigning support calls through our G2BMS ticket system/software
  • Assisting with 1st line support requests with a gradual build to 2nd line requests
  • Follow standard help desk procedures
  • Testing and fixing faulty equipment
  • Doing backup checks and fixes
  • Assisting with regular server maintenance, AV installs and disk space reviews

May lead to future employment and a career in IT Support upon completion of this Apprenticeship

Skills Required

  • Good understanding of marketing principles and a creative and commercial focus
  • Copywriting skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and succinctly
  • Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of administering web content
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • The ability to plan, prioritise and work under pressure, with good time management skills
  • Mandarin speaking would be a bonus as the Parent company Zhejiang Tiancheng Controls Co. Ltd is headquartered in China
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent organisational skills and a customer-oriented approach

Qualities Required

  • A strong interest in IT, computer hardware and maintenance
  • Reliable and conscientious in work habits

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent qualifications) in maths and English

Training Provided

  • Network Engineer Level 4 (Higher National Certificate)
  • Functional Skills in maths and English if required
