NowSkills are working with Six Town Housing who are an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO), set up in 2005 to manage the housing stock owned by Bury Council. They are currently looking to hire an Infrastructure Technician apprentice to join their digital team.


You will be working as an Infrastructure Technician Apprentice and will be responsible for a number of duties as such as: 

  • Supporting delivery of strategic priorities by contributing to the development of the Six Town ICT Strategy and its delivery throughout the organisation - ensuring innovative, flexible, stable and cost-effective technical solutions
  • Help promote and develop the use of ICT throughout the organisation
  • Maintain and develop new and existing Housing software and hardware systems required to support the business
  • Provide 1st line helpdesk and 2nd line support to all staff, on a broad range of equipment and software packages

Skills Required

  • High standard of literacy & numeracy
  • Previous IT experience
  • Experience with iOS and Android devices
  • Experience of relational databases

Qualities Required

  • Strong Interest in IT
  • Excellent communications skills; written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, in person, over the telephone and using e-mail
  • Ability to prioritise and problem solve to ensure that deadlines are met

Qualifications Required

  • Grades A-C (8-4) in GCSE maths & English Language (can include equivalent e.g. Functional Skills Level 2 or A-Levels)

Training Provided

Infrastructure Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

Training will take place in our classroom locations, online and face to face with our mentors. Your employer's line manager will also support you and teach you skills.

During your IT Apprenticeship, you will be assigned a supportive and well experienced tutor who will provide tasks and targets to you to help you obtain the best possible grade.
