What will the apprentice be doing?
As an IT Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain a good understanding of the IT systems and infrastructure within Porvair. You will also learn how to provide support and training to users on the key business systems. Day to day responsibilities of the role will include:
- Using a helpdesk system to provide help and support to users
- Maintaining accurate hardware and software inventories
- Documenting processes
- Providing training to users
- Visiting other sites within the UK as required
- Occasional out of hours working
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Full training towards L3 Information Communication Technician: Support Technician will be provided. You will complete a 22-month apprenticeship. As part of your apprenticeship, you will undertake 25 days of training at the PETA centre in Cosham where you will complete the following qualifications:
PETA Networking Fundamentals
PETA Server Fundamentals
PETA Security Fundamentals
10 Quality of Life (QoL) training days
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
There is potential for a full-time role to be offered to the suitable and successful candidate upon completion of the apprenticeship.
