As an IT Apprentice, you’ll be working closely with our IT Manager to support Needlers day to day operations.
You’ll have a keen interest in computers and software. Working closely with other departments you will need to build relationships with both internal and external customers.
We expect you to be self-motivated, efficient and well-organised with a keen eye for detail. You’ll be IT-literate with skills in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular, Outlook, Word and Excel.
Specific duties will include (but aren’t limited to):
- Setting up PC’s
- Installing Software
- Helping users with questions on applications and windows
- Running Network Cables
- Troubleshooting issues
- Sorting out Printers
- Moving equipment around
- Data Entry
We’re looking for you to develop the role so that, in time, you become the first point of contact for all incoming issues to IT freeing up the IT Manager to concentrate on strategy/development.
Our standard working hours are from 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday – Friday [excluding Bank Holidays] and initially you will work a 37½ hour week around these hours. You may be asked to work the occasional weekend to support operational needs; this will be supervised and time given back in lieu.

You’ll need to be educated to at least GCSE Grade A*-C/9-4 level in both English and Maths (or the equivalent).
As well as training you in the Apprenticeship, depending on your interest and ability to learn, we will train you in such things as:
- Active Directory
- Windows Servers (2008)
- T-SQL database query language
- Windows Programming (C#)
