Job Description

Would you like to be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical services? This JTL delivered Apprenticeship will teach you to become a competent electrician traditional electrical apprenticeship with on-the-job training and college attendance with training provider.

Responsibilities

Duties include:

  • Working indoors and outdoors and sometimes working at height
  • Develop good working relationships with people
  • Reading building and engineering drawings as well as wiring and circuit diagrams
  • Select (within limits) materials and equipment
  • Writing reports
  • Inspecting and testing electrical installations and diagnosing and rectifying faults on a range of circuits and equipment
  • Keeping tools and work area clean and tidy
  • Making sure that Health and Safety is at the forefront of everything you do
  • Terminating armoured and non-armoured Cables
  • Applying resin to Cable joints
  • Assist with statutory testing
  • Installing cut outs
  • Undertaking any other duties and responsibilities as required
  • Dealing with domestic, commercial and industrial electrics where required
  • Wiring of smoke detectors
  • Working at heights (ladders)

Future Prospects

The advertised Apprentice wage will increase yearly or upon completion of progressive stages. After initially qualifying, you could go on to supervisory roles, senior management positions or even running your own business.

Qualifications Required

All candidates must complete the JTL Entry Assessment
The ideal candidate will have math and English GCSE grade 4/C equivalent or above

Training Provided

Level 3 Diploma in Electrotechnical Services

  • Dedicated training at college or training centre
  • On-site, work-based assessments
  • AM2S assessment of competence
  • Functional Skills if required: Level 2 English and Level 2 maths
