Job Description

The apprentice will be based in HQ is in Trafford Park, Manchester, home to all key departments including: sales, buying, design, marketing, planning, imports, export, accounts, IT and HR. As one of the last family owned outdoor clothing brands in the country, they are hugely proud of their reputation for excellence and employee relations.


Main responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line, day-to-day support for any issues with the IT system resolving issues where possible or escalating to external second line support where necessary
  • Ensure the smooth opening of new store locations in all retail markets by setting up all relevant IT systems and hardware ahead of opening and assisting where needed during initial shop trading
  • Develop and devise improvements to existing IT systems, streamlining current processes to develop better in-store shopping scenarios
  • Assist in resolving any reporting queries and help users locate relevant information where needed in IT system
  • Manage the set-up of all new users of the IT system, building accounts & enabling access to the system as required & providing initial training on navigating the system
  • Produce guidance documentation and instructions for both store level and back office users in order for them to be able to complete processes more easily and build on the companies existing library of guides
  • Undertake such tasks and duties as may be reasonably requested by your manager or other members of the management team

Qualifications Required

  • 5 GCSE's, grade A-C including Maths and English
  • As well as an A-Level or equivalent in an IT related subject

Training Provided

  • Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional Skills in maths and English if required

Approximately 11% of training takes place in the QA learning centre classroom. 9% is done in the workplace, through online training, face-to-face meetings with your QA Technical Skills Coach, or developing your portfolio. The remaining time will be spent on your workplace activity.
