Job Description

You will be required to work in our in-house restaurant and food outlet as well as support our internal and external events and correspond with customers and promoting Chef Whites as well as taking bookings. As part of your apprenticeship you will also receive Barista training to enable you to serve coffee provided by Paddy & Scott’s.


Duties include:

  • To undertake food supervision in support of a wide variety of internal and external events
  • To prepare restaurant & external venues for service
  • To support with the clean down of the restaurant or external venues as required after service
  • To support the hospitality operations to customer requirements and appropriate standards where relevant
  • To carry out cash handling and banking where relevant
  • To contribute to stores operation to maintain effective operational practice
  • To maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • To assist in menu planning, event/activity planning and food ordering where relevant
  • To attend theory classes in support of studies according to your individual learning plan
  • To meet agreed targets set within regular reviews for all relevant framework components
  • To ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • To present and maintain a customer focussed approach at all times demonstrating consistently good standards of customer service
  • To present a professional approach at all times in line with staff expectations
  • To work as a member of a team when required in support of shared objectives, including routine tasks associated with the regular upkeep of working areas
  • To ensure compliance with statutory regulations and to be fully conversant with specific regulations applicable to individual areas

  • Can demonstrate excellent communication skills with a range of people, including young people, managers, team members, chefs and restaurant supervisor
  • The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, customers, team members, management and external members
  • The ability to learn to use equipment, systems and techniques relevant to the role.
  • The ability to respond flexibly to changing requirements, however these may be caused
  • Excellent time management
  • A good standard of education, together with evidence of maturity and a good record of behaviour/conduct
  • Evidence of interest in hospitality and catering in line with the relevant apprenticeship standard

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum of 4 GCSE at grade C/4 or above including English & maths, or equivalent or commitment to achieving English and maths alongside apprenticeships standard
