Job Description

The Steel Cauldron is a Wizard Themed, tea-room and tavern based in Broomhill, Sheffield. We are on a mission to make people happy. Our customers and our staff. We are looking for outgoing, motivated, hardworking team members who will take full advantage.

Responsibilities

The aim of our hospitality team member apprenticeship opportunity is to ensure that the apprentice becomes competent at all (age appropriate) front and back of house operations including:

  • Waiting on customers and cleaning tables
  • Till operation
  • Retail stocking and stock take
  • Customer administration
  • Drink preparation - Barista training, cocktail training (if  over 18), milkshake making
  • Food preparation - sandwiches, pizza, breakfast butties, wizard's tea
  • Craft preparation - setting customers up with craft activity
  • Cleaning

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week)

Training Provided

Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Based in the workplace with tutor visits every 6 weeks and 1 day per month in college

Content:

  • Designed to cover all essential knowledge, skills and behaviours

Assessment:

  • Multiple choice test
  • Practical observation
  • Business project and professional discussion at the end of the programme
