Job Description

Sodexo are hiring for a catering supervisor to oversee the running of events, shows, and the Apex Cafe alongside the management team. Could this be the role you're looking for? Apply now!

Responsibilities

Accountabilities:
 

  • Open and close the building they are rostered on to work in
  • Do building checks with training they have received from the council house managers
  • Help with training teams to a high level
  • Complete till floats, safe counts and paperwork coinciding with cashing up, informing management of change required so as not to run out on a daily basis, events and especially at weekends. Investigating any discrepancies of cash flow that have occurred on your shift and informing the management of your findings. Currently cashless
  • Delegating tasks to staff to ensure the area of work is run to a high standard clean and that all customer visible areas are clean and tidy at all times
  • Completing required due diligence paperwork, fridge temperatures, cleaning schedule etc. and to follow all health & safety, food safety and COSHH policies, and ensuring all allergen information is correct and up to date
  • Communicating any equipment issues or low stock levels to the operations manager
  • Communicating any handover information and daily sales takings via the WhatsApp application
  • To complete any such task that is asked of them to suit the needs of the business

Future Prospects

On completion of the apprenticeship employees will have an opportunity to apply for a full time position.

Skills Required

Essential:

  • Catering experience within a similar role or at a lower level for 2 years
  • Team building and motivational skills
  • Standards led with a critical attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Epos tills knowledge
  • Food safety experience
  • Health and safety experience
  • Driver’s licence (desired not essential)

Qualities Required

  • Enthusiasm to drive sales
  • Lead by example and an aspiration to exceed expectation

Qualifications Required

None needed however maths and English are assessed as part of the interview process.

Training Provided

  • Level 3 Hospitality Supervisor Advanced Apprenticeship
  • Level 2 in maths and English Functional Skills if not already achieved
