The Role:

Duties Will Include:
This unique role allows the apprentice to work in two distinct areas of the business - Warehouse as well as the Transport and Planning Departments. 

Transport and planning duties:

  • Planning of material despatches
  • Creation and issue of the load list to the Goods Movement Team
  • Raising despatch notes and creating cert packs
  • Creation of the despatch manifest
  • Providing eta's and pods where required
  • Sales order invoicing
  • Discrepancy investigation
  • Invoice analysis
  • KPI Report preparation
  • Running of Planning reports

Warehousing duties (with suitable training):

  • Running Bandsaws
  • Driving a forklift truck/Sideloader
  • Operating an overhead crane
  • Unloading/Loading trailers
  • General warehousing
  • Booking in of warehouse consumables
  • Inputting Warehouse production data
  • Production KPI report generation
  • Stock checking

During the course of the 12-15 month apprenticeship, the successful candidates will spend around half their time in each department, with some flexibility required depending on business needs and the successful candidates skills set.

Skills Required:

  • IT literacy with willingness to learn MS Office and the use of ERP systems

The successful candidate will study a Level 2 qualification in Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Standard. This will be aided by an Assessor who will carry out all assessments as work based learning, within the workplace.

Hours and Wage:
37.5 hours per week.
Mon- Thu 8.30am - 5pm and Fri 8.30am - 4pm.
£5.50 per hour.
£206.25 per week.

Progression Opportunities:
This unique role allows the apprentice to work in two distinct areas of the business - Warehouse as well as the Transport and Planning Department. Progression routes could be to specialize in one area of the business or other parts of the business as well as the opportunity to progress onto a higher level qualification.
