What will the apprentice be doing?
This is a fantastic opportunity to build a career within the automotive industry to work alongside a qualified Technician/Mentor learning how to carry out vehicle repairs in a safe and responsible manner.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will undertake an Institute of the Motor Industry Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician course and you will also receive training to enable you to gain additional qualifications in Emergency First Aid.
Please note that as part of the Apprenticeship Programme, you will be required to visit our training provider’s Automotive Academy which is based in Derby City Centre for 15 separate weeks (Monday – Friday) throughout the 3-year duration of the course.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Progression at the end of this apprenticeship will depend on the Council's funding situation.
Reality CheckThe role will involved working in the Council's vehicle workshop at Kimberley and the applicant must be physically able to carry out the tasks required.
