What will the apprentice be doing?
As a Hardware Apprentice you will develop your skills by designing and implementation of engineering solutions in accordance with programme and product requirements. Typical tasks will range from requirements management via the design and development cycle, to test, integration and validation of complex products and systems.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As a Hardware Engineering Apprentice you will be studying towards a BEng in Electronic Engineering, under the Embedded Electronic Systems Degree Apprenticeship standard. For the duration of this 5 year programme you will be given one day per week in which to complete your studies with a local university. For the other 4 days you will be working in the business, applying your learning and gaining a breadth of experience across the engineering function.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
At the end of the programme you will have achieved a BEng in Electronics. There will also be the opportunity to apply for professional registration with the Institute of Engineering and Technology as an Incorporated Engineer.
At the end of the Apprenticeship you will be working in Crawley within our Secure Information & Communication Systems business.
