Job Description

To provide assistance to stylists and work with enthusiasm towards achieving your hairdressing qualifications. To ensure that respect for and the well-being of clients is maintained and promoted at all times.


As a Hairdressing Apprentice with Asembo, you have committed to a career in hairdressing which will be a rewarding and exhilarating experience. However, some of your early career duties may be repetitive. All trainees and apprentices have to undertake this en-route to their hairdressing qualifications.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • To maintain the standards of Asembo in all aspects of services offered, ensuring that clients wishes, wants and needs remain paramount
  • To ensure that all clients receive the highest level of service possible
  • To work towards achievement of your hairdressing NVQ Level 2 qualifications
  • To provide assistance to stylists
  • To observe stylists working
  • To attend training sessions in/and away from the salon
  • To ensure that client records are accurately maintained and filed
  • To attend team training sessions, hair shows, courses, product demonstrations and seminars as requested and attain up-to-date knowledge on products and techniques
  • To maintain and promote all company policies at all times
  • To ensure that the salon and salon equipment are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • To maintain a smart, clean, personal image representative of our salon and our industry
  • To positively promote the name and image of the company at all times
  • To carry out and/or assist with technical and retail product stock taking/counting
  • To merchandise the retail area and ensure adequate stock rotation
  • To keep all areas of the salon clean and tidy and to facilitate the laundry cycle
  • To clean ablutions, staff areas, styling stations, kitchen, and crockery and styling tools
  • To ensure the rapid attention to detail cleaning of colour utensils technical equipment
  • To be a team player
  • To provide a professional shampoo and conditioning service to clients
  • To administer the backwash area ensuring a high standard of cleanliness & organisation
  • To undertake additional tasks and duties required by your supervisor from time to time
  • To be an ambassador for Asembo at all times

A Hairdressing Level 2 qualification graded at:    

  • Pass, Merit or Distinction
  • Attendance at college will be required
