Job Description

We are looking for a sheet metal worker to fabricate and assemble ductwork for our ventilation projects. It is an exciting time to join us as we are a growing business on the cusp of exciting change and transformation. Reporting to the Workshop Foreman, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to add real value to our client base.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities / accountabilities: 

  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products according to job order specifications
  • Read and understand drawings
  • Input of data into computer to operate plasma cutter
  • Fabricate ductwork parts to DW/144 standard
  • Form specialty pieces when job requires
  • Verify conformance of worked piece to specifications
  • Maintain equipment, making repairs and modifications when necessary
  • Assist with general work activities as directed by the workshop foreman
  • To understand and adhere to Health and Safety protocols at all times
  • Attend relevant internal and external training events

Permanent employment.

Reality Check

Wage is between £7 and £10 an hour dependant on experience.

Skills Required

  • Knowledge of HVAC or Construction
  • Welding experience
  • Numerate, with good comprehension skills to read and understand drawings and plans
  • Good listening and questioning skills to gain full understanding of instructions

Qualities Required

  • Strong communication in clear and concise English
  • Work well under pressure and remain calm
  • Full driving licence would be beneficial

Qualifications Required

English and Maths to a good standard.
