Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
You will undertake general gardening work including such as assisting with the planting of trees, shrubs and seasonal bedding; assisting with minor tree pruning workand helping with the maintenance of sports facilities and play areas).
You will be required to use all standard gardening equipment together with powered hand tools and light plant.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will undertake a level 2 Horticulture Apprenticeship:

You will additionally have the opportunity to take the following qualifictions:
Emergency first aid: Level 3 award in emergency first aid at work.
Pesticides: Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance OR Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
This will depend on the Council's funding situation.
