Sodexo Bedford school have a new exciting Front of House Apprenticeship opportunity and are recruiting for a new team member who will complete a level 2 Hospitality Team Member qualification in this prestigious setting.


To work in partnership with both the Catering and Hospitality management team at Bedford School (Sodexo) and HIT Training, to understand, develop and learn how the business operates from ground level right through to managing the business unit as per the apprenticeship course guidelines outlined during the induction process.

On this Apprenticeship with Sodexo at Bedford School you will learn how to improve and build on existing hospitality skills and train to be a 1st class catering team member serving food and hot and cold Beverages in the restaurant servery.

This role will be fast paced and exciting with loads of customer interaction and teamwork and will give you a recognised hospitality qualification

Your duties will include:

  • Greeting customers and providing a warm and welcoming customer service experience
  • Taking food and drink orders
  • Serving food and drink at the table
  • Opening and closing procedures including setting up and breaking down of table and furniture for functions as required
  • Cash handling
  • Serving customers, including pupils, staff and visitors to the school at the counter or at functions
  • Working as part of the team
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines
  • Providing all customers with great customer service
  • Liaising with the kitchen, other team members and guests to ensure a fantastic level of hospitality service is achieved
  • Learning how to use the coffee machine if required
  • Bar work

None required - English and maths will be assessed as part of the application process.
