Job Description

pladis UK are searching for the right candidate to join our fast moving food production family at Jacob's Bakery Aintree Liverpool as a Food Technologist Apprentice. If you are looking for an exciting and challenging career working with iconic brands then this may be the role for you!


What will the apprentice be doing?

  • You will maintain a good knowledge of the site and its operations, with a focus on food safety, hygiene, health and safety, environment and quality.  
  • You will carry out internal site SQSE audits and support with external audits.
  • You will ensure all site systems are in line with standards and all changes are effectively communicated. 
  • You will coordinate pest control, calibration, sample analysis and quality/environmental activity. 
  • You will deliver SQSE training to site manufacturing teams.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will attend Reaseheath College on a day release programme undertaking a L3 Diploma in Food Technology at their Cheshire Campus.


What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Successful apprentices shall progress into permanent SQSE Technologist role with pladis.

Reality Check

In Year 1 the successful candidate will be based in Liverpool, moving to Manchester in Year 2. This will be followed with experience at other pladis sites. Mobility is required and relocation support will be provided as necessary.
