Job Description

The Station Tavern are looking for a Food and Beverage Apprentice to work as part of our front of house team. No experience necessary but you will have a desire to learn and complete an Apprenticeship this is an ideal opportunity to assist with getting in to Hospitality. Apply Today!

Responsibilities

The Station Tavern based in Woburn Sands is looking to recruit an Food and Beverage Apprentice for front of house.

  • Meeting and greeting customers.
  • Taking food and drink orders.
  • Serving food and drink at the tables.
  • Serving wine
  • Initiating excellent customer service.
  • Processing cash and card payments.
  • Ensuring stock is replenished.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area.
  • Following health and safety and food hygiene procedures.
  • Ensuring everyone is having the best time possible.

Future Prospects

If the Apprenticeship is successfully completed there may be an opportunity for permanent employment within the business.

Level 2 – Hospitality Team Member
As an Apprentice you will be included on a L2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship.
This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standard has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role.

Once the Apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the Apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.

Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.

Skills Required

  • Good social skills.
  • Must have confidence when communicating with a wide range of customers.
  • Have attention for accuracy and detail.

Qualities Required

  • Good team player.
  • Able to work under pressure during busy times.
  • A very smart appearance is essential.
  • Must be punctual and reliable and have a genuine ambition to work in the restaurant industry.
