Job Description

The role will involve working in either the Appledore Bar or the Olive Tree restaurant.

Duties Include:

  • You will be responsible for assisting private and coach guest with their seating and menu choices
  • These orders must then be taken to the kitchen
  • You will be responsible for clearing the tables and setting them up for the following meal time
  • We are also open to non-residents and you would be expected to have a comprehensive knowledge of the menu
  • You will be expected to take payments

Future Prospects

If the apprenticeship is successfully completed there may be an opportunity for permanent employment within the hotel.

Reality Check

This vacancy is for a minimum of 30 hours but this is a busy hotel and there is the opportunity to work many more hours, your wage will be pro-rated according to total hours worked.
This vacancy may close before the closing date if a suitable candidate is found. All published dates can therefore be flexible and will be dependent on suitable candidates coming forward and registering appropriate interest.

Training Provided

  • Level 2 Hospitality Team Member apprenticeship
  • This will include the completion of functional skills in maths and English
  • Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS)
  • Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the apprenticeship

Each standard has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role

Once the Apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role

Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment
