What will the apprentice be doing?
As a Heavy Vehicle Fleet Mechanic Apprentice, you will gain first-rate training and mentoring along with hands on experience and practical qualifications to prove it! Throughout the training period you will work toward and achieve the Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship standard.
About the role:
Within the role, the successful candidate will work within a busy fleet team to learn a varied range of skills in the maintenance, inspection, repair and testing of Vehicles and Plant with the end goal to becoming a fully skilled mechanic providing a high quality of workmanship to prescribed industry and manufacturers’ standards ensuring customer satisfaction and repair turnaround times are met.
You’ll learn practical skills from a mentor on repairing, maintaining, inspecting and testing a wide range of vehicles and plant, completing tasks to prescribed standards that will be quality checked and recorded. You’ll ensure compliance with all routine daily checks of vehicles and plant and ensure these are undertaken, recording to legal requirements and reporting any damage and defects found.
