What will the apprentice be doing?
- Undertaking financial assessments with customers and making decisions according to Council policy and regulations
- In conjunction with other relevant agencies, providing a benefits advice service to service users
- Completing and verifying income details, identifying any benefits to which the service user may be entitled and assisting with a claim for those benefits if required
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of all pensions and benefits, attending training and information sessions as necessary
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Upon completion you will achieve the Level 4 Revenues and Benefits Welfare Practitioner apprenticeship. The training is delivered by the IRRV via a blended learning programme of online learning, face-to face tuition, listening to interactive and recorded webinars and by attendance at industry events such as the IRRV’s annual spring conference and seminars. You will also benefit from internal training delivered by WCC, during induction and then throughout the apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Subject to completion of the apprenticeship and general performance, you will be retained in a permanent position as a Financial Assessments Officer at Warwickshire County Council and be able to become a member of the IRRV.
