We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, reliable, determined and hardworking Finance Apprentice to join our Finance & Business Efficiency Team. The role involves a 6-month rotation, assisting in the day to day financial activities within each area of the Finance Department to gain knowledge and understanding of how a Finance Department operates.

Responsibilities

Duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the preparation of accurate and high quality monthly and quarterly reporting and forecasting
  • Assist with delivering annual budget setting process
  • Attend monthly and quarterly budget holder meetings as required.
  • Assist with the month end process including preparation of month end journals (including accruals and prepayments)
  • Ad hoc analysis of financial data
  • Assist with the audit and annual report processes          
  • Undertake all aspect of balance sheet control and reconciliation processes         
  • Support the shared service team with supplier invoices and query resolution when required
  • Provide support to the Payroll retained payroll process
  • Assist in audit dip sampling or records verification of staff expenses and procurement card’s expenditure.
  • Supporting billing and cash collection process and Treasury forecasting 
  • Providing ad hoc support to the wider Finance team as and when needed

Reality Check

  • If you are offered the position you will be required to get security cleared. Supply three years referencing and pass a medical. This will all be done through the CNC
