Job Description

The role will provide the opportunity for someone who has a genuine interest in accountancy to start their career. It will enable you to develop your accountancy knowledge and experience working within an accountancy practice.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

You will largely be working on bookkeeping, Back Office accounts processes but will also assist in some of the day to day functions that are essential to keeping the office running smoothly.

As an Accounts Assistant your duties will include;

  • Bookkeeping
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Back Office Services
  • Assisting with Payroll processing
  • Journals
  • Preparation of personal, partnership and company tax returns and computations for review
  • Completion of jobs as efficiently as possible

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting (Level 2)
• Bookkeeping Transactions
• Bookkeeping Controls
• Elements of Costing
• Using Accounting Software
• Work Effectively in Finance
• Foundation Certificate Synoptic Assessment

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After successfully achieving the AAT Level 2 or 3 qualification, the candidate will be considered for a the Level 3 or 4 AAT Apprenticeship training and/or the opportunity to progress to a more senior level with the firm and a career within accountancy.
