Job Description

Working alongside our site team, to ensure the school sites operates effectively and efficiently, following health and safety legislation and school policies and procedures


Norton Community Primary School is a larger than average sized primary school (646 on roll). Due to increasing pupil numbers, in September 2017 we became a split site school, with the development of our new building on Langton Road to accommodate our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.

We are committed to protecting the wellbeing of children following the 'Safer Recruiting' procedures when making appointments. Therefore, this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, medical clearance and satisfactory references.

The role will involve (and is not limited to) the following:

  • Monitor caretaking stock
  • Carry out security checks on the buildings and grounds
  • Record and maintain Health and Safety checks
  • Carry out minor buildings, general DIY and grounds maintenance
  • Liaise with outside contractors when necessary
  • Act as key holder and emergency contact for both schools
  • Display a commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and adults

Permanent job role within the company and potential to progress to a Level 3 apprenticeship.
