Job Description

A great role for candidates interested in developing their skills further and learning about general fabrication (sheet metal) and all forms of welding when dealing with different materials and machinery.


What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Interpret engineering drawings
  • Produce cut lists
  • Cut materials
  • Form materials
  • Tack together
  • Fully wield
  • Dress welds as appropriate
  • Fill in time shoots
  • Follow health and safety rules
  • Keep working environment clean and tidy

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Metal Fabricator L3:

  • Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
  • Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • To become a qualified fabricator/welder
  • Passion to learn CAD at a later stage
