What will the apprentice be doing?

Newport Pagnell Town Council is a local government organisation serving local residents, primarily in the areas of recreation and planning. The apprentice will assist in the many functions involved in planning and managing events, communicate with local retailers, manage social media posts, procurement, and general administration for the Town Council Offices. Part of the role will also include working on the reception service at front desk offering customer service, answer telephone calls, emails and letters from customers with a high level of customer care. In addition, log, classify and direct customer enquiries to the appropriate service area or organisation and log, track and chase all feedback from service areas and other organisations.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will gain the following qualifications: - Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship - Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required). You will also study a range of topics, including: IT, record and document production, decision making, planning and organisation, project management, policies, relevant regulations, stakeholders, processes and external environment factors.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

A potential permanent job working for the Town Council in Events, PR and administration. Prospects beyond that exist, but will depend on interest in a variety of different opportunities.
