Job Description

Busy International Show Jumping Yard. Looking for an Apprentice level 2 Groom to start, eager to learn with riding tuition and travel to show opportunities. Interest in Show jumping.

Responsibilities

Busy, training and show jumping yard.

Looking for someone to join our team as an apprentice. Our yard is a busy, international show jumping centre for horse and rider.

The ideal candidate will be keen to learn and progress and enjoy being part of a bustling, professional team.

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Schooling
  • Plenty of riding
  • Riding tuition
  • Opportunity to travel to shows

Maximum 5 days per week for 16-17year olds with two consecutive days off (usually Sunday and Monday).

Minimum of 30 hours per week for all ages.

Maximum 40 hours per week 16-17-year olds / Maximum 48 hours per week for 18+.

Future Prospects

On successful completion on Level 2 Groom Apprenticeship, an opportunity to progress to Level 3 with view to be kept on as part of the team.
