Job Description

3PA Limited is an established machinery company selling equipment into mostly the plastic processing industry and are starting to manufacture some of their own products. They are looking to recruit an in house workshop apprentice who can graduate into a fully trained service engineer.


Apprenticeship to consist of all aspects of our work including:

  • Building plastic modular conveyor systems
  • CNC machining on new CNC mc
  • Assembling, wiring, testing, installing on customer site
  • Other work includes warehouse spare parts inventory control and shipping
  • Customer site visits to assist machine commissioning of sold plastic processing machinery
  • Workshop duties
  • Drawing of conveyor designs
  • Layout drawings for machinery
  • All aspects of being part of a small business

Future Prospects

  • Apprentice to workshop technician. Then service engineer, sales and service engineer, technical service manager, potential directorship

Qualities Required

Qualifications Required

  • A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) at grade 5/C and above including English, Science and maths

Training Provided

Engineering Fitter Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Delivery of In-House Competency Training Plan (Skills)
  • Delivery of Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) at College (Knowledge)
  • Level 2 Functional Skills (if not exempt)
  • Behaviours Assessment
  • End Point Assessment
