You’ll be joining a community of like-minded people, including lots of other apprentices and spending time between college and one of our UK sites.


This is an exciting Apprenticeship, where you will be working towards the L3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Pathway Mechatronic Standard ST0457 and an HNC in General Engineering.

  • Year 1 is full time at Loughborough College
  • Years 2, 3 & 4 are based at our factory in Melton Mowbray, with day release to college

With strong mentorship you will be hands on, helping you to develop the technical skills required to become a qualified Engineering Technician. Years 2, 3 & 4 will also see you continue your academic development, with day release at College. We offer robust and structured development, through one-to-one mentors and give regular opportunities to engage with higher management throughout the scheme to help you excel in your future career. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reactive maintenance engineering
  • Planned maintenance engineering
  • Machinery repairs
  • Improving efficiencies
  • Working closely with a assigned mentor

The next stage is a telephone interview. If you do well at this stage, we’ll invite you to a panel day, which will include a group discussion exercise, a problem-solving exercise, a presentation, and an interview.

You will also get a factory tour with one of our current apprentices, so you can see our environment for yourself, and hear about life with us as an apprentice from someone who’s already been in your shoes.

Qualifications Required

GCSE qualifications or equivalent - Grade C/4 or above in maths and English, plus a Science and two other subjects. 5 qualifications at grade C/4 or above is the minimum entry criteria.
