This is more than university! You’ll be learning in the real-world of work as well as in the classroom, working with exciting technologies and developing expertise enabling you to grow into a highly capable, multi-skilled engineer while studying BEng in Mechanical Engineering at University of Hertfordshire.


What will the apprentice be doing?

You will take part in a rotational programme, working in all the key areas which cover the total end to end process from operations to engineering functions. This includes Assembly, Test, Quality, Product Refurbishment, Logistics, Purchasing / Procurement, Planning, Continuous Improvement, R&D Laboratory, Design, Applications and Reliability Engineering.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

In partnership with the University of Hertfordshire, you will study towards BEng Mechanical Engineering (Product Design and Development). All course fees are supported by the government apprentice levy.

You will learn about the design, manufacture and assembly of mechanical seals.This will involve the use of 3D CAD to design components, the evaluation of designs using analysis software, test rigs and troubleshooting of seals returned from the field. A mix of theoretical and hands-on engineering.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
