This vacancy is for an Tool Making Apprentice based in Nelson, Lancashire. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake valuable work experience whilst gaining on the job qualifications.

Responsibilities

Tool Making apprentice roles will include:

  • As a tool making and machining apprentice you will be working from complex engineering drawings
  • Situated in a fully equipped tool making room you will be required to produce precision tools and holding devices alongside refurbishing worn parts
  • These tools and holding devices will be utilised to cut, shape and form metals and other materials in the manufacture of our products
  • This role involves all types of machining, bench fitting and electrical connection of hot runners

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C (4-9) or above including English, maths
  • Science and Technology is desirable
  • Other equivalent qualifications are acceptable

Training Provided

  • Technical Certificate, Level 3 BTEC Diploma
  • Functional Skills, Level 2 in mathematics, English and ICT
  • Abrasive Wheels (Only for learners that are based in centre for year 1)
  • IOSH Working Safely (Only for learners that are based in centre for year 1)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Engineering
