What will the apprentice be doing?In the first year of the Apprenticeship you are paid to go to the Industrial Training Centre at Kingston College for 40 weeks, where you will spend four days a week learning practical skills and one day a week learning engineering theory. During year two you will learn on the job and attend College one day a week to achieve the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering. Years three and four will be work based whilst working towards the Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The first year will be full time at Kingston College learning the necessary skills to be able to work in the field with an experienced Field Engineer.
Alongside your 4 year apprenticeship you will also receive in-house training to become a skilled Engineer.
After a period of foundation skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Mechatronics Maintenance Technician
- Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?The aim is to provide a permanent position within the Company following a successful Apprenticeship wherever possible
